AKAI GX-230D
Akai GX-230D
GX Head Stereo Tape Deck (1976-79)
Description
The new Akai AC servo motor employed in the GX-230D for direct capstan drive is equipped with 114 gears on bot the rotor and stator sides and a detector coil and magnet are built in on the stator side for a completely new pulse detection system.
With this system, pulse detection is made only once every 114 pulses instead of at each pulse for greatly increased pulse output.
Other advantages of this system over the usual DC servo motor with magnetic braking system include simplified construction, absence of heat generation, and substantially decreased ripple as a result of the mechanical eccentricity of the motor.
One each, GX forward/reverse playback and combination record/erase head guarantees long lasting performance, wider dynamic range and excellent signal to noise ratio.
Model GX-230 is also available and incorporates the same outstanding features as the GX-230D, but is equipped with a speaker jack for playback.
